Hal is a lofty visionary with all of the power and none of the sense. He wants to be treated with respect but continually erupts into absurd creative tantrums until he has exhausted everyone into seeing things his way.

Jerry is an old-school theatre composer. Raised on the classics (Jerome Kern, Richard Rodgers, Jule Styne and Leonard Bernstein) he has no patience for the new fangled approaches to musical theatre. He is an agoraphobe who becomes isolated from the team: physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Dick is the corporate sponsor who is watching where every penny is spent with unhealthy interest. Dick has unrealistic expectations from the show, wants to have ridiculous Bulkly family stories woven through, and doesn’t understand why this show doesn’t look and sound exactly like Wicked, his family’s favorite show.
